The Authority of the Believer

Theme: Understanding and Exercising Our God-Given Authority in Christ

Key Verse: Luke 10:19 – “Behold, I give unto you authority… over all the power of the enemy.”

1. Introduction

Many believers live defeated lives not because the enemy is powerful, but because they do not understand the authority they already have in Christ. Authority is not based on feelings or experience; it is based on our position in Christ and the finished work of the cross.

A police officer stops traffic not because he is stronger than a truck, but because of the authority behind his uniform. In the same way, believers carry Heaven’s authority to resist the enemy, speak God’s Word, and advance God’s Kingdom.

2. What Is Believer’s Authority?

Authority = The Legal Right to Act on Behalf of Jesus

Jesus said:

“All authority in heaven and earth has been given to Me. Therefore, go…” — Matthew 28:18-19

This means:

  • Jesus has all authority, and

  • He delegated that authority to us, His church.

We are ambassadors of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20).
We represent His power, His Kingdom, and His Word on earth.

3. The Basis of Our Authority

(a) The Name of Jesus

“…that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…” — Philippians 2:10
We have authority when we declare, pray, and command in Jesus’ Name.

(b) The Blood of Jesus

“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” — Revelation 12:11
The blood gives us victory, cleansing, and boldness.

(c) The Word of God

“The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit…” — Ephesians 6:17
The enemy is defeated when we speak God’s Word with faith.

(d) Our Position in Christ

“Seated with Him in heavenly places…” — Ephesians 2:6
We fight from victory, not for victory.

4. Why Do Believers Need Authority?

To Destroy the Works of Satan

“He has given authority to cast out demons and heal the sick.” — Mark 3:15

To Live a Victorious Christian Life

“Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” — James 4:7
Not fight but resist, because authority makes the enemy flee.

To Advance God’s Kingdom

Prayer, evangelism, worship, healing, deliverance, teaching—all require authority.

5. How to Walk in Authority?

1. Know Your Identity

You are a son and daughter of God, not a slave or victim.

2. Speak With Boldness

Authority is released through words (Mark 11:23).

3. Live Under God’s Authority

Submission to God produces power against the enemy (James 4:7).

4. Stay Filled With the Holy Spirit

“You shall receive power…” — Acts 1:8

6. Signs That You Are Using Authority

  • Fear turns into faith

  • Problems become testimonies

  • Attacks from the enemy lose power

  • Prayer becomes confident, not begging

  • You stop complaining and start commanding

7. Practical Example

Stop saying:
❌ “God please remove this problem.”
Say:
✔ “In Jesus’ Name, I command this mountain to move.”
✔ “I speak healing over my body.”
✔ “I rebuke every attack of the enemy.”

8. Conclusion

Believers are not weak, powerless Christians waiting to escape the world.
We are warriors, ambassadors, sons of authority.

Declare today:

“I am seated with Christ. I have authority. The enemy is defeated. I walk in victory!”

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for giving us authority. Open our eyes to understand who we are in You. Teach us to walk in faith, boldness, and victory. We resist every power of darkness and declare Your Kingdom over our lives. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.


Believer’s Authority — अधिकार जो मसीह में हमें दिया गया है

Key Scripture: लूका 10:19

“देखो, मैं ने तुम्हें साँपों और बिच्छुओं को कुचलने का और शत्रु की सारी शक्ति पर अधिकार दिया है, और किसी रीति से तुम्हारा कुछ भी नुक़सान न होगा।”

1. अधिकार का स्रोत—यीशु मसीह

हमारे पास अधिकार इसलिए है क्योंकि:

  • यीशु ने पाप, मृत्यु और शैतान पर विजय पाई

  • वह मृतकों में से जी उठा

  • उसने स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी का सारा अधिकार प्राप्त किया (मत्ती 28:18)

  • और उसने वह अधिकार अपने लोगों को दिया

अधिकार हमारी शक्ति से नहीं, मसीह की शक्ति से आता है।

2. विश्वासियों की पहचान—कौन हैं हम?

पहचान अर्थ
हम परमेश्वर के बच्चे हैं (यूह. 1:12) अधिकार परिवार के आधार पर आता है
हम मसीह में बैठाए गए हैं (इफि. 2:6) आत्मिक स्थानिक सत्ता
हम राज्य के राजदूत हैं (2 कुरि. 5:20) स्वर्ग के प्रतिनिधि
हम विजेता हैं, पराजित नहीं (रोम. 8:37) परिस्थितियाँ हमें नहीं हरातीं

जब तक आप अपनी पहचान नहीं जानते, आप अपना अधिकार उपयोग नहीं करेंगे।

3. विश्वासियों को दिया गया अधिकार

A. पाप और बंधनों पर

  • रोमियों 6:14 — पाप तुम पर प्रभुता न करेगा

B. बीमारी और चंगाई पर

  • मरकुस 16:17–18 — बीमारों पर हाथ रखेंगे और वे चंगे होंगे

C. अंधकार और दुष्टात्माओं पर

  • मरकुस 6:7 — उसे अधिकार दिया कि वे दुष्टात्माओं को निकालें

  • याकूब 4:7 — शैतान का विरोध करो, वह तुमसे भाग जाएगा

D. परिस्थितियों और पहाड़ों पर

  • मरकुस 11:23 — पर्वतों से कहो, और वह होगा

E. प्रार्थना में अधिकार

  • यूह. 14:13–14 — मेरे नाम में माँगो

4. अधिकार का उपयोग कैसे करें

1. परमेश्वर के वचन को बोलें

  • अधिकार शब्दों द्वारा सक्रिय होता है

  • शैतान चुप रहने वाले विश्वासियों से नहीं डरता

2. यीशु के नाम में आदेश दें

  • “यीशु के नाम में, पीछे हट!”

3. विश्वास और आत्मविश्वास के साथ खड़े रहें

  • डरो मत, हिल मत

4. परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता में चलें

  • शुद्ध जीवन, पवित्रता, और आत्मिक अनुशासन

5. सक्रिय रहें—न कि निष्क्रिय

  • अधिकार दिया गया है उपयोग करने के लिए, केवल जानने के लिए नहीं

5. क्यों कई विश्वासी अधिकार का उपयोग नहीं करते?

कारण परिणाम
पहचान का अभाव डर, हार
अविश्वास कमजोरी
आत्मिक आलस्य शत्रु को मौका
प्रार्थना की कमी आत्मिक शक्ति कम

नहीं उपयोग किया गया अधिकार, अधिकार खोने जैसा है।

6. विजयी जीवन का रहस्य

जानो → मानो → बोलो → चलो → जीत लो

  • हम न केवल बचे हैं, सुसज्जित और नियुक्त भी हैं

  • कलीसिया सेना है, दर्शक नहीं

समापन

मसीह ने तुम्हें अधिकार दिया है

  • डर से ऊपर उठो

  • परिस्थिति को आदेश दो

  • दुष्ट को रोक दो

  • परमेश्वर की प्रतिज्ञाएँ बोलो

दिव्य घोषणा

“मसीह में मैं विजयी हूँ।
यीशु के नाम में मुझे अधिकार दिया गया है।
शत्रु की हर शक्ति मेरे पैरों के नीचे है।”

प्रार्थना

हे पिता परमेश्वर, धन्यवाद कि तूने मुझे मसीह में अधिकार दिया।
मेरी पहचान को प्रकट कर, मेरे विश्वास को मजबूत कर,
और मुझे साहस दे कि मैं अपने अधिकार में चलूँ।
