The ministry of Holy Spirit: The Perfect Love (1 Corinthians 13:1-13) Remember: 1). They are gift of the Spirit; you cannot earn them by keeping the law or doing good works. They are gifts of pure grace, not of works-just like salvation (Ephesians 2:8, 9) . 2). Are all spiritual gifts given to every member of the body of Christ? The answer is obvious-No (1 Corinthians 12:29, 30) . 3). Can the individual Christian choose the spiritual gift he or she would like to receive? You are to “desire spiritual gifts” (1 Corinthians 14:1) ; however the gift are given according to the sovereign will of the Holy Spirit ( 1 Corinthians 12: 11) . you may desired the best gifts; but you will not receive it unless it is the will of God. 4). Are these spiritual gifts for the church today? Some say no- that God phased out some or all of the spiritual gifts that they are not for church today.
