The Holy Spirit: His Ministry Christian have great and many privileges as children of God because of who the Holy Spirit is, and what He can do in the life of every believer. It is most important to realize that the Holy Spirit is fully God. The deity of the Holy Spirit affirmed in the Scriptures. He is declared to be God: 1. By Peter, when Ananias and Sapphira tried to deceive God by bringing a portion of an offering, pretending to bring all of it. “But Peter said, ‘Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself?... You have not lied to men but to God’“ (Acts 5:1-4) . When Ananias lied to the Holy Spirit, He therefore lied to God. The Holy Spirit is God according to the scriptures. 2.
