Speak Life, Not Hopelessness

"Speak Life, Not Hopelessness” 📖 Jeremiah 29:11; Proverbs 18:21 Introduction Church, words are powerful. We sometimes underestimate them. We say things like हम कहते हैं: “Nothing good will ever happen in my life.” “I’ll never come out of this situation.” “My future is finished.” But listen—when we speak hopelessness, we are not just expressing feelings; we are actually resisting the plan of God. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us हमें याद दिलाता है: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11

Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV) says: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” This verse is often quoted for encouragement, but its context makes it even richer. 📖 Context: God spoke this through Jeremiah to the exiled Israelites in Babylon. They were discouraged, far from their homeland, and unsure of their future. Just before this verse, God told them they would be in exile for 70 years (Jeremiah 29:10). So the promise was not of immediate rescue, but of certain restoration. ✨ Meaning: God’s plans are not random; they are purposeful. His intention is for shalom (peace, completeness, well-being), not harm. Even in seasons of waiting and hardship, God is working toward a hopeful future. 💡 Application today: It reminds us to trust God’s timing, even when circumstances feel delayed or uncertain. Our hope isn’t based on quick fixes but on God’s faithful character. Jus...
