Proverbs 29:18 — “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” (KJV)

Other translations:

  • NIV: “Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint.”

  • ESV: “Where there is no prophetic vision, the people are unrestrained.”


Introduction

Every successful person, family, church, ministry, or nation rises on the foundation of vision.
Vision is more than a dream or personal ambition. It is God’s revealed direction and purpose for our lives.
When people do not have God-given vision, they become confused, divided, and spiritually weak.

Today many are busy but not purposeful, active but not effective.
Activity without vision leads to frustration;
but vision brings direction, unity, and life.

1. What Is Vision?

Vision is:

  • Seeing the future through God’s eyes

  • God’s revelation, guidance, and direction

  • A clear picture of God’s purpose for our life, family, church, ministry, and calling

Vision answers:

  • Who am I?

  • Why am I here?

  • Where am I going?

  • What has God called me to do?

2. What Happens When There Is No Vision?

The Bible says: “Where there is no vision, the people perish.”
Without vision:

  • People spiritually die.

  • People lose discipline and self-control.

  • People live by feelings instead of faith.

  • People scatter because there is no unity.

Example

When people are walking in vision, they become busy building, not busy fighting.
But when there is no vision, instead of working with each other, people start working against each other.

  • In a family, husband and wife start blaming each other, arguing about small issues, and losing peace.

  • In a church, without a common mission, people begin to criticize, compare, compete, judge, and gossip.

  • In ministry, instead of saving souls, energy is wasted on quarrels, conflicts, jealousy, and division.

  • In business or organization, without clear goals, people spend time pointing fingers instead of solving problems.

Where there is no vision, conflict replaces progress.
Where there is vision, unity replaces conflict.

Illustration

Think of workers building a house:
If everyone knows the blueprint (vision), one mixes cement, another lays bricks, another measures, another paints.
Each is focused and busy — they have no time to fight.

But without the blueprint, one wants a wall here, another wants a window there — confusion, frustration, and chaos.

Vision unites. Lack of vision divides.

3. The Blessing of God-Given Vision

Vision brings:

  1. Direction — You know the road.

  2. Motivation — Vision fuels passion.

  3. Focus — You stop wasting time.

  4. Unity — People walk together.

  5. Endurance — Vision gives strength in trials.

Biblical Example

  • Nehemiah had a vision to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls.

  • The people were broken, discouraged, and scattered.

  • Vision brought faith, unity, courage, and victory.

  • Everyone worked with one heart and one purpose.

4. How Do We Receive Vision?

  1. Through the Word of God — His promises reveal His plans.

  2. Through Prayer and Waiting — Vision is birthed in the presence of God.

  3. Through the Holy Spirit — He gives direction and confirmation.

  4. Through Obedience — Faithfulness with little brings greater revelation.

5. Our Response

  • Ask God to reveal His vision for your life, family, business, and ministry.

  • Write it down.

  • Pray over it.

  • Share it with your team or family.

  • Run with it — take steps of faith.

Habakkuk 2:2

“Write the vision and make it plain… that he may run who reads it.”

Conclusion

The greatest tragedy is not death—but living without purpose.
A life without vision becomes empty and destructive.
A church without vision becomes divided.
A family without vision loses peace.
A ministry without vision loses fruitfulness.

Let us become people of vision, walking in God’s purpose and united for His kingdom.

    हर सफल व्यक्ति, परिवार, मसीही कलीसिया, सेवकाई, और राष्ट्र की नींव दर्शन पर टिकी रहती है।
    दर्शन केवल एक सपना या अपनी इच्छा नहीं है—यह परमेश्वर का दिया हुआ स्पष्ट उद्देश्य और दिशा है।

    आज बहुत से लोग व्यस्त तो हैं, पर उद्देश्यहीन,
    सक्रिय तो हैं, पर फलहीन।
    दर्शन के बिना गतिविधि थकावट लाती है;
    पर दर्शन दिशा, एकता और जीवन लाता है।

    1. दर्शन क्या है?

    दर्शन है:

    • परमेश्वर की आँखों से भविष्य को देखना

    • परमेश्वर का प्रकाशन, मार्गदर्शन और इच्छा

    • परमेश्वर द्वारा दी हुई स्पष्ट बुलाहट और उद्देश्य

    दर्शन इन प्रश्नों का उत्तर देता है:

    • मैं कौन हूँ?

    • मैं यहाँ क्यों हूँ?

    • मुझे कहाँ जाना है?

    • परमेश्वर ने मुझे क्या करने के लिए बुलाया है?

    2. जब दर्शन नहीं होता तो क्या होता है?

    बाइबल कहती है: “जहाँ दर्शन नहीं होता, वहाँ लोग नाश होते हैं।”

    दर्शन के बिना:

    • लोग आत्मिक रूप से मर जाते हैं।

    • लोग अनुशासन और नियंत्रण खो देते हैं।

    • लोग भावनाओं के अनुसार चलते हैं, विश्वास के अनुसार नहीं।

    • लोग बिखर जाते हैं, एकता नष्ट हो जाती है।

    उदाहरण / Illustration

    जब लोग दर्शन में चलते हैं तो वे महारत करने में व्यस्त रहते हैं,
    पर जब दर्शन नहीं होता, तब वे एक-दूसरे को दोष देने में व्यस्त हो जाते हैं।

    • परिवार में, पति-पत्नी एक-दूसरे पर दोष लगाने लगते हैं; छोटी बातों पर झगड़े, टकराव और तनाव बढ़ते हैं।

    • कलीसिया में, मिशन और लक्ष्य न होने पर लोग आलोचना, ईर्ष्या, तुलना, प्रतिस्पर्धा, और चुगली में लग जाते हैं।

    • सेवकाई में, आत्माओं को बचाने के बजाय समय झगड़े, लड़ाई, विवाद और विभाजन में चला जाता है।

    • व्यापार या संगठन में, लक्ष्य न होने पर लोग उँगली उठाने और गलती ढूँढने में समय खर्च करते हैं।

    दर्शन नहीं होगा तो संघर्ष और झगड़ा होगा;
    दर्शन होगा तो एकता और उन्नति होगी।

    निर्माण का उदाहरण

    जैसे घर बनाने का काम:
    यदि सभी लोगों के पास नक्शा (दर्शन) हो—
    कोई सीमेंट मिलाता है, कोई ईंट लगाता है, कोई माप लेता है, कोई रंग करता है।
    सब काम में व्यस्त—किसी को लड़ने की फुर्सत नहीं।

    पर यदि नक्शा न हो—
    एक कहे दीवार यहाँ होगी, दूसरा कहे वहाँ होगी, तीसरा कहे इसे तोड़ो।
    परिणाम—उलझन, निराशा और अराजकता।

    दर्शन जोड़ता है। दर्शन का अभाव तोड़ता है।

    3. दर्शन का आशीर्वाद

    दर्शन देता है:

    1. दिशा — रास्ता स्पष्ट होता है।

    2. प्रेरणा — जोश और उत्साह मिलता है।

    3. केन्द्रितता — समय और ऊर्जा व्यर्थ नहीं होती।

    4. एकता — लोग साथ चलते हैं।

    5. धैर्य और सहनशक्ति — कठिनाई में भी आगे बढ़ने की शक्ति।

    बाइबल में उदाहरण

    • नहेमायाह के पास यरूशलेम की दीवार पुनर्निर्माण का दर्शन था।

    • लोग टूटे हुए, निराश, बिखरे और कमजोर थे।

    • दर्शन ने विश्वास, एकता, साहस और विजय दी।

    • सबने मिलकर एक मन और एक उद्देश्य से काम किया।

    4. दर्शन कैसे प्राप्त होता है?

    1. परमेश्वर के वचन के द्वारा

    2. प्रार्थना और प्रतीक्षा के द्वारा

    3. पवित्र आत्मा के प्रकाशन के द्वारा

    4. आज्ञाकारिता और विश्वासयोग्यता के द्वारा

    5. हमारा उत्तर

    • परमेश्वर से अपने जीवन, परिवार, कलीसिया, सेवकाई, और व्यवसाय के लिए दर्शन माँगें।

    • उसे लिखें।

    • उस पर प्रार्थना करें।

    • अपनी टीम, परिवार या कलीसिया के साथ बाँटें।

    • विश्वास में आगे बढ़ें।

    हबक्कूक 2:2

    “दर्शन को लिख ले और साफ-साफ लिख… ताकि पढ़ने वाला दौड़ सके।”

    निष्कर्ष

    सबसे बड़ी त्रासदी मृत्यु नहीं है,
    बल्कि उद्देश्यहीन जीवन है।

    • दर्शन के बिना जीवन खाली और नष्ट हो जाता है।

    • दर्शन के बिना परिवार लड़ने लगता है।

    • दर्शन के बिना कलीसिया विभाजित होती है।

    • दर्शन के बिना सेवकाई फलहीन हो जाती है।

    आइए हम ऐसे लोग बनें जो परमेश्वर के दर्शन में चलें
    और एकता, प्रेम, और उद्देश्य के साथ आगे बढ़ें।

    “हे प्रभु, हमारी आँखें खोल कि हम तेरे दर्शन को देख सकें। हमें दिशा, एकता और साहस दे। हमारे जीवन, परिवार, कलीसिया, और सेवकाई में तेरी योजना पूरी हो। हमें दर्शन वाले लोग बना। यीशु के नाम में, आमीन।
