D- Fear not: God Is Your Power (2 Kings.6:16).

“Do not fear, for those who are with us more than those who are with them” (v.16). Elisha was a prophet with great faith. By that faith he knew that the Lord’s army was encamped around Dothan, not to save the city but to deliver Elisha from the hands of Ben-Hadad, king of Syria. The king had send his army to capture Elisha because the Lord had revealed to the prophet all of Ben-Hadad’s military plans. Elisha, in turn, revealed those plans to Ben-Hadad’s enemy, Jehoram, king of Israel, thus guaranteeing Ben-Hadad’s defeat. So Ben-Hadad sent spies to locate Elisha. When Elisha was found, the king sent horses, chariots, and a great army, just to capture one unarmed prophet! But they were not enough (v.14). They reached Dothan in darkness and surrounded the city. When Elisha’s servant went about his morning duties, he saw the Syrian army and rushed in to Elisha, overcome by fear and crying, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” (v.15).
1)      Elisha thought the young man faith and fear of the Lord. Elisha prayed that the Lord would open the young man’s eyes so that he might see the unseen (v.17; 2Cor.4:18). Only by faith can we see the invisible host of the heaven and “not fear.” The Lord opened the young man’s spiritual eyes, and he saw God’s army ready to protect His servant.
2)      Every servant of God has the edge over the enemies of righteousness. The psalmist said, “The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Ps.118:6). The believer has these armaments in his fight against fear:
a)      God’s Word. “For He Himself said, I will never leave you nor forsake you. ‘So we can boldly say:’ The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” (Heb.13:5, 6; Duet.31:12, 13).
b)      God’s power. “This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them” (Psalm 34:6, 7).
c)       God’s Holy Spirit. “My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!” (Hag.2:25). “I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper [the Holy Spirit], that He may abide with you forever” (John.14:16).
d)      God’s protection. Isaiah said, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you” (Is.35:4). Isaiah 35 is a promise and a prophesy. “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance.” The promise is that the Messiah will come to establish God’s kingdom on the earth (Rev.19:11-16). The prophesy is that He will come with vengeance-at Armageddon (Rev.19:17-21).
3)      While we wait for His second coming we are to “be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.” How? “Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Eph.6:10, 11). Without God’s armor, we fight a losing battle. God’s armor consists of the following:
a)      The belt of truth. “Having girded your waist with truth” (Eph.6:14). This belt of truth is embodied in Christ. Jesus said, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John.8:31, 32). Again He said, “I am…. the truth” (John.14:6). Every believer must bear witness to the truth (John.5:33).
b)      The breastplate of righteousness. “Having put on the breastplate of righteousness” (Eph.6:14). This breastplate is the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom.10:1-4, 10). It must be reflected in our daily lives.
c)       The gospel shoe’s. “Having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel [good news] of peace” (Eph.6:15). Christ is our peace, and without His gospel the sinner can never be at peace with God (Rom.5:1). It is our duty to go with the gospel-to tell those who do not know it.
d)      The shield of faith. “Above all, talking the shield of faith” (Eph.6:16). Crist is our shield of faith. God said to Abram, “Do not be afraid. I am your shield” (Gen.15:1). “The just shall live by faith” (Heb.10:38). The shield of faith will quench all the fiery darts of the satanic kingdom.
e)      The helmet of salvation. “Take the helmet of salvation” (Eph.6:17). Christ is our deliverance (Luke.4:16-18).
f)       The sword of Spirit. “The sword of the Spirit [Holy Spirit], which is the word of God” (Eph.6:17). Christ also is the sword, the living Word (John.1:1, 14). Let us exalt this Word in all that we do or say, and let us use it, our only offensive weapon.
g)      Prayer. “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit” (Eph.6:18). The armor is God’s and as good soldiers of the cross we need to keep it polished with prayer. It is our “secret defense”!
“Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance” (Is.35:4). Until then, put on the whole armor of God and do not fear, because “we are more than conquerors through Him who love us” (Rom.8:37).

1) एलीशा ने सोचा कि युवक विश्वास और प्रभु का डर है। तब एलीशा ने प्रार्थना की कि प्रभु उस युवक की आंखें खोल दें, ताकि वह अनदेखी देख सके (v.17; 2कुरिन्थियों 4: 18)। केवल विश्वास के द्वारा हम स्वर्ग के अदृश्य मेजबान को देख सकते हैं और "डर से नहीं देख सकते।" प्रभु ने युवक की आध्यात्मिक आँखें खोलीं, और उसने अपने सेवक की रक्षा के लिए परमेश्वर की सेना को तैयार देखा।
2) परमेश्वर के प्रत्येक सेवक के पास धार्मिकता के दुश्मनों पर बढ़त है। भजनहार ने कहा, “यहोवा मेरी ओर है; मुझे डर नहीं लगता। दुनियां मेरे साथ क्या कर सकता है?" (भजन 118: 6)। विश्वासी के पास डर के खिलाफ उसकी लड़ाई में ये हथियार हैं:
a) परमेश्वर का वचन। “उन्होंने खुद कहा, मैं तुम्हें कभी नहीं छोड़ूंगा और न ही तुम्हें त्यागूंगा। ‘इसलिए हम निर्भय होकर कह सकते हैं: 'प्रभु मेरे सहायक हैं; मुझे डर नहीं लगता। दुनियां मेरे साथ क्या कर सकता है?" (इब्रियों 13: 5, 6; व्यवस्था 31: 12, 13)।
b) परमेश्वर की शक्ति "यह गरीब आदमी चिल्लाया, और प्रभु ने उसे सुना, और उसे उसकी सभी परेशानियों से बचाया। परमेश्वर का स्वर्गदूत उन सभी के आस-पास रहता है जो उससे डरते हैं, और उन्हें बचाता है” (भजन 34: 6, 7)।
c) परमेश्वर की पवित्र आत्मा। “मेरी आत्मा तुम्हारे बीच बनी हुई है; डरो मत, भयभीत!" (हाग्गै 2: 25)। "मैं पिता से प्रार्थना करूंगा, और वह आपको एक और सहायक (पवित्र आत्मा) देगा, कि वह सदा तुम्हारे साथ रहे" (यूहन्ना 14: 16) ।

b) धार्मिकता का कवच । "धार्मिकता के कवच को पहन कर रखना" (इफिसियों 6: 14)। यह कवच प्रभु यीशु मसीह की धार्मिकता है। (रोमियो 10: 1-4, 10)। यह हमारे दैनिक जीवन में परिलक्षित होना चाहिए।
c) सुसमाचार का जूता । "शांति की सुसमाचार [खुशखबरी] की तैयारी के साथ अपने पैरों को रखना " (इफिसियों 6: 15)। मसीह हमारी शांति है, और उसके सुसमाचार के बिना पापी कभी भी परमेश्वर के साथ शांति में नहीं हो सकता (रोमियो 5:1) । यह हमारा कर्तव्य है कि हम सुसमाचार के साथ चलें, उन लोगों को बताएं जो इसे नहीं जानते हैं।

e) उद्धार का टोपी। "उद्धार का टोपी लो" (इफिसियों 6: 17) । मसीह हमारा उद्धार है (लूका 4:16-18) ।
f) आत्मा की तलवार। "आत्मा की तलवार [पवित्र आत्मा], जो परमेश्वर का वचन है" (इफिसियों 6: 17) । मसीह भी तलवार है, जीवित वचन (यूहन्ना 1:1, 14) । आइए हम इस शब्द को उन सभी में छोड़ दें जो हम करते हैं या कहते हैं, और हमें इसका उपयोग करते हैं, हमारे एकमात्र आक्रामक हथियार।
g) प्रार्थना। "हमेशा सभी प्रार्थना और आत्मा में प्रार्थना के साथ प्रार्थना करना" (इफिसियों 6: 18) । कवच परमेश्वर का है, और सूली के अच्छे सैनिकों के रूप में हमें इसे प्रार्थना के साथ चमका के रखने की आवश्यकता है। यह हमारी "गुप्त रक्षा" है!
