1. Worship Is Not Just Singing

Many believers think worship = music, but music is only one expression.

  • Singing is visible worship

  • But true worship is invisible before it becomes visible

👉 In John 4:24, Jesus doesn’t mention songs—He talks about spirit and truth.

Teaching Point:
Worship is not about the song we sing, but the life we bring.

2. Worship Is a Lifestyle

Romans 12:1 calls worship a living sacrifice.

That means:

  • Worship is how you live Monday to Saturday

  • Worship is seen in your daily decisions

Examples:

  • Integrity in business

  • Faithfulness in small things

  • Love toward difficult people

  • Obedience when no one is watching

👉 Your life becomes the altar.

3. Worship Is Surrender

True worship costs something.

Look at Abraham in Genesis 22:

  • He said, “We are going to worship”

  • But what did he bring? A sacrifice

Teaching Point:
Worship is not convenience—it is surrender.

Ask:

  • What are you holding back from God?

  • Is your worship costly or comfortable?

4. Worship Must Be in Spirit and Truth

John 4:24

  • Spirit → from the heart, genuine

  • Truth → aligned with God’s Word

You can:

  • Sing loudly but be spiritually dry

  • Perform outwardly but lack inward connection

Teaching Point:
God is not impressed by performance—He looks at the heart.

5. Worship Flows from Relationship

Look at King David:

  • He was a worshiper not just because he sang

  • But because he walked with God, repented, and pursued Him

👉 Worship is not an event—it’s intimacy with God.

6. Worship Continues Outside Church

Sunday is just a gathering—worship continues daily.

  • At home

  • In your work/business

  • In your thoughts

  • In your responses

Teaching Point:
If worship stops after Sunday songs, it was never true worship.

Conclusion

Worship is:

  • Not just a song

  • Not just a moment

  • Not just a service

👉 Worship is a life fully surrendered to God

Ask the congregation:

  • Are you just singing, or truly worshiping?

  • Is your life a living sacrifice?

  • What area of your life needs to become worship?

It was not a place of life, but a place of death, decay, and hopelessness.
