A Kingdom Mariage

A Kingdom Marriage: Strength, Love, and the Fear of the Lord”

📖 Main Texts:

Proverbs 31:10–31 & Ephesians 5:21–33

🔥 INTRODUCTION

Today, we are living in a time where marriage is confused, weakened, and often broken. But God has already given us a perfect design.

In Proverbs 31, we see the character of a godly woman.
In Ephesians 5, we see the structure of a godly marriage through Christ.

When we combine them, we don’t just get a good marriage—we get a Kingdom marriage.

🧱 POINT 1: THE FOUNDATION IS THE FEAR OF THE LORD

📖 Proverbs 31:30 – “A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”
📖 Ephesians 5:21 – “Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”

👉 The foundation is not love alone… it is reverence for God.

  • If God is not first, marriage will struggle

  • Fear of the Lord produces humility, patience, and faithfulness

🔥 A strong marriage is built on two people surrendered to God, not controlling each other

💎 POINT 2: THE WOMAN – STRENGTH WITH GRACE

📖 Proverbs 31:17 – “She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong.”
📖 Proverbs 31:26 – “She speaks with wisdom…”

👉 The Proverbs 31 woman is:

  • Strong, not weak

  • Wise, not careless

  • Diligent, not lazy

She is not just a helper—she is a builder of the home.

🔥 She carries:

  • Strength in her hands

  • Wisdom in her mouth

  • Fear of God in her heart

❤️ POINT 3: THE MAN – LOVE THAT SACRIFICES

📖 Ephesians 5:25 – “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church…”

👉 The husband is not called to control, but to love sacrificially.

  • Christ didn’t dominate the Church—He died for her

  • Real leadership is servanthood

🔥 A real man:

  • Protects spiritually

  • Leads with humility

  • Loves with sacrifice

🔗 POINT 4: DIVINE ORDER, NOT DOMINATION

📖 Ephesians 5:22 – “Wives, submit yourselves…”

👉 Submission is often misunderstood.

It is not:

  • Inferiority

  • Oppression

It is:

  • Trust

  • Honor

  • Alignment with God’s order

🔥 And remember:

  • The husband must first die to himself

  • Then the wife can trust his leadership

This is mutual submission under Christ

👑 POINT 5: HONOR BRINGS FRUITFULNESS

📖 Proverbs 31:11 – “Her husband has full confidence in her…”
📖 Proverbs 31:28 – “Her husband also, and he praises her…”

👉 Where there is honor, there is:

  • Confidence

  • Peace

  • Growth

🔥 Many homes are broken not because of lack of love—but lack of honor

🌿 POINT 6: MARRIAGE IS A PICTURE OF CHRIST

📖 Ephesians 5:32 – “This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church.”

👉 Marriage is not just earthly—it is spiritual revelation.

  • Husband represents Christ

  • Wife represents the Church

🔥 Your marriage is preaching a message—even when you are silent

🙏 CONCLUSION

God is not asking for perfection—He is asking for alignment.

  • A woman who fears the Lord

  • A man who loves like Christ

👉 When these come together, the result is:
Peace in the home, power in the spirit, and testimony to the world

FINAL DECLARATION

“Lord, build our homes according to Your design.
Let our marriages reflect Christ and the Church.
Let love, honor, and the fear of the Lord dwell in our homes.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
