Little by Little – God’s Way of Increase

“Little by Little – God’s Way of Increase”

Text: Proverbs 13:11

“Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.”

Introduction

We live in a generation that wants fast results—fast money, fast success, fast growth. But God’s wisdom often works in the opposite direction. Proverbs 13:11 teaches us that speed without wisdom leads to loss, while patience with faithfulness leads to increase.

Point 1: God Warns Against Hasty Gain

Wealth gained hastily will dwindle

Hasty wealth often comes from:

  • Shortcuts

  • Pressure

  • Compromise

  • Debt without wisdom

It may look like blessing, but it carries stress and instability. What God gives, He gives with peace.

📖 Proverbs 20:21 – An inheritance gained too quickly will not be blessed in the end.

Point 2: God Blesses Faithful, Daily Effort

Whoever gathers little by little will increase it

God honors:

  • Daily discipline

  • Honest work

  • Patience in seasons of waiting

Increase is not magic—it is managed faithfulness.

📖 Luke 16:10 – Faithful in little, faithful in much.

Point 3: Real-Life Application

In business: grow customers slowly, manage money wisely.
In farming: seasons cannot be rushed—fruit comes in time.
In ministry: people grow, disciples form, churches mature step by step.

God is more interested in who we are becoming than how fast we are growing.

Point 4: Jesus Modeled This Principle

Jesus spent:

  • 30 years preparing

  • 3 years ministering

  • Then changed the world

God’s biggest works often have long preparation seasons.

Conclusion

Fast gain tests our character.
Slow growth builds our destiny.

Closing challenge:
Are we chasing quick results—or walking in God’s process?

“Lord, teach us to trust You in the small, so You can trust us with the increase.”

Optional Closing Prayer

“Father, deliver us from impatience and shortcuts. Help us to be faithful in little things. Let our work, business, and ministry grow in Your time and in Your way.
