 From Obstacle to Builder

Key Theme: Instead of becoming an obstacle, become humble and do the work of new construction.

Introduction

Beloved church,
Every generation faces a holy question:
Will we resist what God is doing, or will we participate in it?

God is always at work—building lives, restoring families, shaping leaders, renewing His Church. Yet, history shows us a sobering truth: sometimes the greatest resistance to God’s new work does not come from the world, but from within God’s own people.

Today’s message is a call—not of condemnation, but of alignment.
A call to move from being an obstacle to becoming a builder.
A call to humility.
A call to new construction.

Scripture Reading

1 Corinthians 3:9–11

“For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building… But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

1. God Is Always Building

God is not static.
He is a Builder God.

From Genesis to Revelation, we see construction:

  • He builds the universe

  • He builds a nation from Abraham

  • He builds a tabernacle, then a temple

  • He builds the Church through Christ

  • And today, He is still building lives, ministries, and movements

Jesus Himself said:

“I will build My church” (Matthew 16:18)

Notice—He didn’t say preserve, maintain, or freeze.
He said build.

Where God builds, there is:

  • Change

  • Noise

  • Dust

  • Adjustment

And this is where the tension begins.

2. When Good People Become Obstacles

Let us be honest.
An obstacle is not always evil.
Sometimes it is well-intentioned people with hardened hearts.

The Pharisees loved Scripture—but resisted Jesus.
The elder brother loved the house—but rejected grace.
The Israelites loved Egypt’s food—but rejected God’s future.

Why?

Because pride prefers comfort over calling.

Obstacles are formed when:

  • Tradition becomes more important than obedience

  • Position becomes more important than purpose

  • Control becomes more important than Christ

Pride says:

“This is how we’ve always done it.”

Humility says:

“Lord, what are You doing now?”

3. Pride Resists; Humility Builds

James 4:6 says:

“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

Church, this is a dangerous verse—not for sinners, but for leaders.

Pride does not always shout.
Sometimes pride whispers:

  • “They don’t need to change this.”

  • “I know better.”

  • “This won’t work.”

Humility, on the other hand, kneels and says:

“Lord, even if I don’t fully understand, I trust You.”

Humility does not mean silence.
It means submission.

A humble heart asks:

  • Where can I serve?

  • What needs to be built?

  • How can I support, not stand in the way?

4. New Construction Requires New Roles

In construction, not everyone lays the foundation.
Some carry bricks.
Some mix cement.
Some clean the site.

But everyone matters.

When God begins new construction:

  • Some may lead

  • Some may support

  • Some may mentor

  • Some may step aside to make room

And here is the hard truth:
Sometimes humility means letting go of what you once held.

John the Baptist said:

“He must increase, but I must decrease.”

That is not failure.
That is faithfulness.

5. Beware of Fighting God’s Future

Acts 5:39 warns us:

“If it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”

Church, it is possible to sing worship songs and still resist God.
It is possible to hold a title and still oppose His movement.

That is why today’s call is urgent:
Do not become an obstacle.

Ask yourself:

  • Am I protecting my comfort or pursuing God’s calling?

  • Am I criticizing from a distance or building with my hands?

  • Am I resisting change because it is wrong—or because it is unfamiliar?

6. Becoming a Builder: Practical Steps

So how do we respond?

1. Choose Humility Daily

Pray:

“Lord, remove pride from my heart. Make me teachable.”

2. Discern Before You Decide

Not every new thing is wrong.
Test it in prayer, Scripture, and counsel.

3. Serve Where You Are Needed

Builders don’t wait for applause.
They look for assignment.

4. Protect Unity

Unity is the safety fence around God’s construction site.

Ephesians 4:3:

“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit.”

Conclusion: A Call to the Altar

Beloved, God is building.
The only question is—will we help or hinder?

Today, God is not asking:

  • Are you gifted?

  • Are you experienced?

  • Are you important?

He is asking:

“Are you humble?”

So I leave you with this charge:

Instead of becoming an obstacle, become humble and do the work of new construction.
Lay down pride.
Pick up purpose.
And become a fellow worker with God.

Closing Prayer

“Lord, we surrender our hearts to You.
Remove every pride, every fear, every resistance within us.
Make us humble builders in Your hands.
Let us not stand in Your way, but stand in Your will.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

प्रिय भाइयों और बहनों,
हर पीढ़ी के सामने एक गंभीर प्रश्न खड़ा होता है—
क्या हम परमेश्वर के काम का विरोध करेंगे, या उसमें सहभागी बनेंगे?

परमेश्वर हमेशा कार्यरत है।
वह जीवन बना रहा है, टूटे हुए परिवारों को जोड़ रहा है, नई अगुवाई खड़ी कर रहा है, और अपनी कलीसिया का नया निर्माण कर रहा है।
परंतु इतिहास हमें यह भी सिखाता है कि कई बार परमेश्वर के नए काम में सबसे बड़ी रुकावट संसार नहीं, बल्कि परमेश्वर के अपने लोग बन जाते हैं।

आज का यह संदेश दोष लगाने के लिए नहीं, बल्कि दिशा देने के लिए है।
बाधा से निर्माता बनने की पुकार।

मुख्य शास्त्र वचन

1 कुरिन्थियों 3:9–11

“क्योंकि हम परमेश्वर के सहकर्मी हैं; तुम परमेश्वर की खेती और परमेश्वर की रचना हो… परंतु हर एक सावधानी से बनाए, क्योंकि उस नेव के सिवा जो डाली गई है, और कोई नेव नहीं डाली जा सकती, और वह यीशु मसीह है।”

1. परमेश्वर हमेशा निर्माण करता है

परमेश्वर स्थिर नहीं है।
वह निर्माण करने वाला परमेश्वर है।

  • उसने सृष्टि बनाई

  • अब्राहम से एक जाति बनाई

  • तंबू और मंदिर बनाया

  • यीशु मसीह के द्वारा कलीसिया बनाई

  • और आज भी वह जीवन और सेवकाई बना रहा है

यीशु ने कहा:

“मैं अपनी कलीसिया बनाऊँगा।” (मत्ती 16:18)

यीशु ने यह नहीं कहा—“मैं उसे वैसे ही बनाए रखूँगा।”
उसने कहा—मैं बनाऊँगा।

जहाँ निर्माण होता है, वहाँ:

  • परिवर्तन होता है

  • असुविधा होती है

  • धूल और शोर होता है

और यहीं से समस्या शुरू होती है।

2. जब अच्छे लोग बाधा बन जाते हैं

बाधा हमेशा बुराई से नहीं आती।
कई बार अच्छे लेकिन अभिमानी लोग बाधा बन जाते हैं।

  • फरीसी शास्त्र जानते थे, पर यीशु को ठुकरा दिया

  • बड़ा भाई घर में था, पर अनुग्रह से दूर था

  • इस्राएली मिस्र से निकले, पर मन मिस्र में ही रहा

क्यों?

क्योंकि अभिमान बुलाहट से ज़्यादा आराम को पसंद करता है।

जब:

  • परंपरा आज्ञाकारिता से बड़ी हो जाए

  • पद उद्देश्य से बड़ा हो जाए

  • नियंत्रण मसीह से बड़ा हो जाए

तब लोग बाधा बन जाते हैं।

3. अभिमान रोकता है, नम्रता बनाती है

याकूब 4:6 कहता है:

“परमेश्वर अभिमानियों का विरोध करता है, पर नम्रों पर अनुग्रह करता है।”

यह वचन पापियों से ज़्यादा अगुवों के लिए चेतावनी है।

अभिमान हमेशा ऊँची आवाज़ में नहीं बोलता।
कई बार वह मन में कहता है:

  • “इसकी ज़रूरत नहीं है”

  • “मैं बेहतर जानता हूँ”

  • “यह तरीका नहीं चलेगा”

नम्रता कहती है:

“प्रभु, मैं पूरी तरह न समझूँ, फिर भी मैं आज्ञाकारी रहूँगा।”

4. नए निर्माण के लिए नए मन और नई भूमिकाएँ चाहिए

निर्माण स्थल पर हर कोई नींव नहीं डालता।
कोई ईंट उठाता है, कोई गारा मिलाता है, कोई सफ़ाई करता है।

पर हर भूमिका महत्वपूर्ण है।

कई बार नम्रता का अर्थ होता है—
पीछे हटना ताकि कोई और आगे बढ़ सके।

यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देने वाले ने कहा:

“वह बढ़े और मैं घटूँ।”

यह हार नहीं,
यह विश्वासयोग्यता है।

5. परमेश्वर के भविष्य से मत लड़िए

प्रेरितों के काम 5:39:

“यदि यह काम परमेश्वर की ओर से है, तो तुम उसे नष्ट नहीं कर सकोगे; नहीं तो कहीं ऐसा न हो कि तुम परमेश्वर से ही लड़ने वाले ठहरो।”

कलीसिया में रहकर भी परमेश्वर का विरोध किया जा सकता है।
सेवकाई करते हुए भी उसके मार्ग में खड़ा हुआ जा सकता है।

इसलिए आज की पुकार है:
बाधा मत बनिए।

अपने आप से पूछिए:

  • क्या मैं सुविधा की रक्षा कर रहा हूँ या बुलाहट की?

  • क्या मैं आलोचक हूँ या निर्माता?

  • क्या मैं बदलाव का विरोध कर रहा हूँ क्योंकि वह गलत है—या सिर्फ नया है?

6. निर्माता बनने के व्यावहारिक कदम

1. प्रतिदिन नम्रता चुनिए

प्रार्थना करें:

“प्रभु, मेरे हृदय से अभिमान निकाल दे।”

2. परखिए, तुरंत विरोध मत कीजिए

हर नया काम गलत नहीं होता।

3. जहाँ ज़रूरत हो, वहाँ सेवा कीजिए

निर्माता तालियों की प्रतीक्षा नहीं करते।

4. एकता की रक्षा कीजिए

एकता परमेश्वर के निर्माण की सुरक्षा है।

इफिसियों 4:3:

“आत्मा की एकता को बनाए रखने का यत्न करो।”

निष्कर्ष: आज का आह्वान

प्रिय जनो,
परमेश्वर निर्माण कर रहा है।
प्रश्न यह नहीं कि वह काम कर रहा है या नहीं—
प्रश्न यह है कि हम क्या कर रहे हैं?

आज परमेश्वर यह नहीं पूछ रहा:

  • तुम कितने प्रतिभाशाली हो

  • तुम्हारा पद क्या है

वह पूछ रहा है:

“क्या तुम नम्र हो?”

इसलिए आज यह निर्णय लें:

बाधा बनने के बजाय, नम्र बनिए और नए निर्माण के काम में लग जाइए।

समापन प्रार्थना

“हे प्रभु,
हम अपने हृदय तेरे सामने झुकाते हैं।
हर अभिमान, हर विरोध को दूर कर।
हमें अपने हाथों में नम्र निर्माता बना।
हम तेरे काम के मार्ग में नहीं, तेरी इच्छा में खड़े रहें।
यीशु के नाम में, आमीन।”
