As the Word Grows in You, the Image of Jesus Becomes Clearer

Here is your full sermon, now including all three example

“As the Word Grows in You, the Image of Jesus Becomes Clearer”

INTRODUCTION

Church, today I want to share a simple but powerful truth:

“As the Word grows in you, the image of Jesus becomes clearer.”

Many believers desire a closer walk with Jesus.
We want His voice, His presence, His guidance.
But spiritual clarity does not come from emotion alone—
it comes from revelation,
and revelation comes through the Word of God.

Just like a seed planted in the soil becomes a great tree,
the Word planted in your heart builds the life of Christ inside you.

1. JESUS IS THE WORD MADE FLESH (John 1:1,14)

“In the beginning was the Word…
and the Word became flesh.”

Jesus is not separate from the Word—
He is the Word.

When you read the Word, you touch Jesus.
When you meditate on the Word, you meet Jesus.
When you obey the Word, you walk like Jesus.

So as the Word grows in your heart,
the image of Jesus becomes clearer in your life.

2. THE WORD REVEALS THE CHARACTER OF JESUS

You cannot reflect someone you do not know.

Scripture reveals Jesus:

  • His compassion

  • His purity

  • His humility

  • His power

  • His obedience

  • His love

The more you fill yourself with the Word,
the more these qualities grow inside you.

Your thoughts begin to align with Him.
Your emotions become shaped by Him.
Your reactions resemble Him.

People don’t just hear you preach—
they see Jesus in you.

3. EXAMPLE 1 — THE DIRTY WINDOW

Imagine standing inside a room looking out at the sunrise.
The sun is bright…
but the window is full of dust and stains.

Is the sun less powerful?
No.
The problem is not the sunlight—
the problem is the dirty window.

Church, Jesus is always shining—
but if the heart is dirty,
His image looks blurry.

The Word of God cleans the window of your heart.
When the Word cleanses you,
Jesus becomes clear—first to you, then through you.

4. THE WORD CLEANSES AND TRANSFORMS (John 15:3, Romans 12:2)

Jesus said,
“You are clean because of the Word I have spoken to you.”

The Word cleans:

  • bitterness

  • fear

  • hidden sin

  • confusion

  • doubt

A clean heart reflects Christ clearly.

Romans 12:2 says we are transformed by renewing our mind.
Transformation is not by willpower—
it is by Word power.

When the Word grows:

  • Anger turns to gentleness

  • Fear turns to faith

  • Lust turns to purity

  • Pride turns to humility

  • Anxiety turns to peace

The Word changes your behavior
because Christ is being formed in you.

5. EXAMPLE 2 — THE SEED AND THE TREE

If you place a mango seed on a table for ten years,
nothing will happen.

But if you plant it, water it, nourish it,
life begins to grow—slowly, silently, surely.

Over time,
the seed becomes a tree,
the tree bears fruit,
and the fruit blesses many.

Church, the Word works the same way.
It must be planted and watered daily.

For some time, you may not feel anything.
But keep reading… keep meditating… keep obeying…

Suddenly you realize—
your mind has changed,
your habits have changed,
your reactions have changed,
your heart has changed.

That is Christ being formed in you.

6. THE WORD GIVES DISCERNMENT AND SPIRITUAL CLARITY

A believer full of the Word is never confused.

The Word teaches you to:

  • recognize God’s voice

  • sense spiritual danger

  • walk in God’s timing

  • make wise decisions

  • understand God’s will

As the Word increases,
clarity increases,
because Jesus becomes clearer in your spirit.

7. EXAMPLE 3 — THE PHONE SCREEN

If you drop your phone and the screen cracks,
you can still see the display—
but everything looks distorted and unclear.

Notifications blur.
Colors fade.
Images appear broken.

Church, in the same way,
when your heart is cracked by sin,
bitterness, or worldly noise,
your spiritual “screen” becomes unclear.

You can still “see” Jesus,
but the image looks distorted.

But when the Word heals and restores your heart,
your spiritual screen becomes whole again.
Suddenly you see Jesus clearly—
and others see Him clearly through your life.

8. HOW TO LET THE WORD GROW IN YOU

  1. Read the Word daily
    Not to finish—
    but to be fed.

  2. Meditate on the Word
Let one verse speak deeply to your spirit.

  3. Obey the Word
    Revelation becomes transformation through obedience.

  4. Speak the Word
Declare scripture over your life, your home, your future.

  5. Live the Word
Let people see Christ in your choices and actions.

CONCLUSION

Church, the world doesn’t need more religious words—
it needs a clearer picture of Jesus.

And that picture becomes visible
when the Word grows in you.

Make this your prayer today:

“Lord, plant Your Word deep in me until the world sees Jesus in me.”

Because when the Word grows in you,
the image of Jesus becomes clearer—
to your family,
to your community,
to the broken,
to the lost,
to the nations.
