“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”

Introduction

Salt is one of the most common substances on earth, yet Jesus used it to describe His followers.

Salt may look small and ordinary, but its impact is powerful.

Just like salt cannot be ignored, a true believer cannot live a silent, powerless, compromise-filled life.

Jesus calls us not to just exist but to influence, preserve, and transform the world.

1. SALT PRESERVES

📖 In ancient times salt kept food from rotting.

✦ Before refrigerators existed, salt prevented decay.

✦ Without salt, food would spoil quickly.

✨ Spiritual Meaning

We are called to preserve godliness in a decaying world.

A world full of corruption, immorality, lies, hatred, injustice is like meat without salt.

👉 The Church is God’s preservative—holding back decay by truth, prayer, holiness, and righteousness.

Application

• Stand for truth even when it is unpopular.

• Protect your family spiritually.

• Advocate for justice and moral values.

If believers become silent, society rots.

2. SALT GIVES FLAVOR

Food without salt tastes dull and empty.

✨ Believers give meaning and joy to life

A Christian should bring hope where there is despair, joy where there is sadness, and purpose where there is emptiness.

Application Questions

• Does your presence bring encouragement?

• Do others feel Christ through you?

• Is your church alive or tasteless?

👉 Salt adds flavor—believers add value.

3. SALT HEALS

Salt heals wounds and cleanses infections.

📖 2 Kings 2:21 – Elisha healed the waters with salt.

We are called to:

• Reconcile broken relationships

• Bind wounds of hurt people

• Heal communities with love and forgiveness

👉 The Gospel is the healing salt for a broken world.

4. SALT CREATES THIRST

Salt makes people thirsty.

When we live with Christ-like character, people become thirsty for God.

Application

Are people thirsty for Jesus because of your life?

If we are salty Christians, unbelievers will say:

“I want what you have.”

5. SALT MUST STAY PURE

Jesus warns that salt can lose its flavor.

When salt mixes with dirt, it becomes useless.

✨ Meaning

• Compromise destroys testimony.

• Sin removes influence.

• Worldly Christianity loses power.

👉 A believer must remain pure, committed, holy, and faithful.

A powerless Christian is like tasteless salt—only fit to be thrown out.

Conclusion

Salt is small but powerful.

Just like that, you may feel insignificant, but God chooses ordinary people to create extraordinary impact.

Jesus is saying:

• You are valuable

• You are influential

Salt must stay pure  तुम पृथ्वी के नमक हो 📖 वचन: मत्ती 5:13 “तुम पृथ्वी के नमक हो; परन्तु यदि नमक का स्वाद जाता रहे, तो वह फिर किस वस्तु से नमकीन किया जाएगा? वह फिर किसी काम का नहीं, केवल बाहर फेंके जाने, और मनुष्यों द्वारा रौंदे जाने के योग्य है।” भूमिका (Introduction) नमक एक साधारण दिखने वाली चीज़ है, परन्तु उसका प्रभाव महान है। जैसे नमक भोजन में स्वाद और सुरक्षा देता है, वैसे ही मसीही लोग संसार में प्रभाव और परिवर्तन लाने के लिए बुलाए गए हैं। परमेश्वर चाहता है कि His लोग सिर्फ मौजूद न रहें, बल्कि प्रभावशाली हों। 1. नमक सड़न से बचाता है (Salt Preserves) पुराने समय में फ्रिज नहीं था। लोग चिकन, मांस, मछली को सड़ने से बचाने के लिए नमक लगाते थे। आध्यात्मिक अर्थ संसार पाप और भ्रष्टाचार से सड़ रहा है—झूठ, घृणा, अन्याय, अनैतिकता हर जगह है। परन्तु कलीसिया इस संसार की रोकने वाली शक्ति है। 👉 हम प्रार्थना, पवित्रता और सत्य द्वारा समाज को बचाते हैं। आवेदन (Application) सत्य के लिए खड़े रहें, चाहे भीड़ विपरीत हो। अपने परिवार को आत्मिक सड़न से बचाएँ। समाज में नैतिकता और न्याय की आवाज़ बनें। यदि मसीही चुप हो जाएँ, तो समाज सड़ जाएगा। 2. नमक स्वाद देता है (Salt Gives Flavor) नमक रहित भोजन फीका और बेस्वाद होता है। आध्यात्मिक अर्थ मसीही लोग अपने जीवन और संगति से आनन्द, आशा और उद्देश्य लाते हैं। आवेदन क्या आपकी उपस्थिति से लोग आशीषित होते हैं? क्या आपका जीवन मसीह की सुगंध देता है? क्या आपकी कलीसिया जीवित और उत्साहित है या बेस्वाद? 👉 जहाँ नमक है, वहाँ स्वाद है; जहाँ मसीह है, वहाँ जीवन है। 3. नमक चंगा करता है (Salt Heals) नमक घावों को साफ और ठीक करता है। 📖 2 राजा 2:21 – एलीशा ने नमक से यरीहो का पानी शुद्ध किया। आध्यात्मिक अर्थ मसीह के लोग समाज और परिवार के घाव भरने के लिए भेजे गए हैं: टूटे संबंधों को जोड़ना क्षमा और प्रेम से चंगा करना दुखी और घायल लोगों को सांत्वना देना 👉 सुसमाचार इस संसार के घावों पर मरहम है। 4. नमक प्यास जगाता है (Salt Creates Thirst) नमक खाने से प्यास लगती है। आध्यात्मिक अर्थ जब हम मसीह के चरित्र में चलते हैं, तो लोग उसकी ओर खिंचते हैं। 👉 क्या लोग आपके जीवन को देखकर यीशु को जानने की प्यास रखते हैं? एक “नमकीन मसीही” संसार को मसीह की ओर आकर्षित करता है। 5. नमक शुद्ध होना चाहिए (Salt Must Stay Pure) यदि नमक के साथ मिट्टी मिल जाए तो उसका स्वाद नष्ट हो जाता है। आध्यात्मिक अर्थ समझौता, पाप और दुनियादारी हमारे प्रभाव को खत्म कर देती है। 👉 दुनियावी और समझौता करने वाला मसीही बे-स्वाद नमक है। स्वाद खोने वाला नमक बेकार है—बस फेंकने और रौंदने के योग्य। समापन (Conclusion) नमक छोटा है, परन्तु प्रभाव बड़ा है। वैसे ही आप भले ही साधारण हों, परन्तु परमेश्वर आपको महान प्रभाव के लिए इस्तेमाल करना चाहता है। यीशु कह रहे हैं: तुम मूल्यवान हो तुम प्रभावशाली हो तुम संसार में परिवर्तन के एजेंट हो आव्हान (Call to Action) अपने आप से पूछें: क्या मैं पवित्रता को बचा रहा हूँ? क्या मैं लोगों के जीवन में स्वाद ला रहा हूँ? क्या मैं चंगाई और मेल-मिलाप लाता हूँ? क्या लोग मेरे जीवन से यीशु के लिए प्यासे होते हैं? क्या मेरा नमक स्वाददार है या बेकार? प्रार्थना हे प्रभु, हमें नमकीन मसीही बना। हमें सत्य, प्रेम, पवित्रता और सामर्थ से भर। हमारे जीवन से संसार आशीष पाए और तेरी महिमा दिखे। आमीन। संक्षिप्त रूप (Outline) मुख्य बिंदु अर्थ आवेदन नमक बचाता है पवित्रता कायम रखना समाज को सड़न से बचाना नमक स्वाद देता है आनन्द व आशा देना प्रभावी मसीही जीवन नमक चंगा करता है घाव भरना क्षमा व मेल नमक प्यास जगाता है लोगों को यीशु की ओर आकर्षित करना चरित्र गवाही नमक शुद्ध रहना चाहिए समझौता न करना पवित्र जीवन	Avoid compromise	Stay holy
