God Expects Growth and Multiplication

God Expects Growth and Multiplication

📖 Key Verse: Matthew 25:16-17"The one who had received five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five more talents. Likewise, the one with two talents made two more."

1. God's Principle of Growth

  • From Genesis to Revelation, God’s design is growth, increase, and fruitfulness.
  • Everything God creates is meant to multiply—whether it's resources, skills, knowledge, or businesses.

🔹 Example: In Genesis 1:28, God blessed Adam and Eve, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply.” This applies not only to people but also to our work and productivity.

2. The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30)

  • The master gave 5, 2, and 1 talent (a large sum of money) to three servants.
  • The first two servants doubled their talents through wise business.
  • The third servant buried his talent and was rebuked for laziness.
  • Lesson: God expects us to grow, invest, and multiply what He has given us, not waste it.

3. Biblical Examples of Growth and Multiplication

🔹 Joseph in Egypt (Genesis 41:39-57)

  • Joseph multiplied Egypt’s grain reserves during times of plenty.
  • Because of his wisdom, Egypt prospered, and people survived the famine.
  • Lesson: Smart planning and wise management lead to growth and provision.

🔹 The Widow’s Oil (2 Kings 4:1-7)

  • A widow was in debt and had only a small jar of oil.
  • The prophet Elisha told her to pour the oil into borrowed jars.
  • The oil kept multiplying until she had enough to sell and pay off her debts.
  • Lesson: Faith and obedience lead to miraculous multiplication.

🔹 Jesus Feeding the 5,000 (John 6:5-13)

  • Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fish to feed thousands.
  • Lesson: Whatever you give to God, He blesses and multiplies.

4. Why Growth and Multiplication Matter in Business

🔹 Growth Brings Responsibility (Matthew 25:21) – "You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things."
🔹 Multiplication Helps Others (Proverbs 11:25) – "A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed."
🔹 God Blesses Diligence (Proverbs 10:4) – "Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth."

5. Practical Ways to Multiply What God Gives You

Develop Your Skills – Invest in learning and growth.
Work with Excellence – Do everything as if for the Lord (Colossians 3:23).
Take Calculated Risks – Fear should not stop you from stepping out in faith.
Use Your Wealth Wisely – Invest, save, and give.
Help Others Grow – Train and mentor others.

Conclusion

  • God expects growth and multiplication, not stagnation.
  • Faithfulness in small things leads to greater blessings.
  • Final Question: Are you multiplying what God has given you, or are you burying it?
