10- FALSE TEACHING ABOUT LIFE AFTER PHYSICAL DEATH

    We have already learned every detail about life after physical death in previous lessons. In this lesson, we shall discuss major false teaching among Christians in the world about life after physical death.



1. According to soul sleep teaching: When a believer die, his soul does not leave the body, but goes for long sleep with the dead body until the second coming. When Christ come, the soul will be woken up from deep sleep and then taken to heaven.


2. According to soul Annihilation teaching: The soul of unbelievers will be consumed/destroyed/annihilated, making them out of existence, devoid of eternal punishment in hell. As soon as the soul goes to hell, he will be killed and make him out of self consciousness. The result is that the soul will never experience eternal punishment in hell.


3. According to Temporary soul punishment teaching: The soul of unbelievers will be  punished in hell for a short duration of time according the severity of sin committed. After temporary punishment, the soul will be taken to heaven to be with Jesus for ever.


4. According to No Hell teaching: Actually there is no Hell at all. Hell is mentioned in the Bible by Jesus just to frighten the people so that people may seek God and commit no sin.


     The above four teachings are laughable to me, but they are taught by Doctorate and PhD holders in Theology. The question is this; are those teachings found in the Bible? Are they true? Let us verify it. Else we will be doomed.


1. Soul leaves the body at death:

     We have already proved that soul leaves the body at physical death. However, let us review the verses again.

Gen 35:18 And as her soul was departing (for she was dying), she called his name Ben-oni; but his father called him Benjamin.


Conclusion: Soul does not sleep with the dead body until Christ second coming, but leaves the body at death. In the old Testament time, all human souls went to Sheol after leaving the body, which we have already learned everything in previous lessons. In the church age believer’s soul goes to heaven and unbeliever’s soul continue to go to Sheol which we have proved every verses in the previous lessons. So, soul sleeping teaching is a false Theology from Lucifer.



Rev 6:9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. 10 They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”



Luke 16:22 The poor man (Lazarus) died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. 24 And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’


2. Eternal punishment of unsaved:


Luke 16:23 and in Hades, being in torment, he (Rich man) lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side.

Conclusion: Above verses are self explanatory. Rich man’s soul is in fire section of Hades being in torment. So, the teachings that there is no Hell, soul is annihilated, there will be temporary punishment in Hell are false teaching. It is because the rich man is shouting out of torment in hell from Moses time (Luke 16:29) to this day and shall be in the days to come.


 => So, be aware of dogs.


Matt 25:41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”


Mark 9:43 And if your hand causes your downfall, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than to have two hands and go to hell — the unquenchable fire,

44 where Their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.


Rev 14:9 ….“If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 … he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night….”
