Good Message vs. Message with Revelation

Good Message vs. Message with Revelation

1. Definition

  • Good Message: Well-prepared sermon, biblically correct, inspirational, and logical.

  • Message with Revelation: Spirit-breathed truth that unveils Christ and brings life-changing understanding.

2. Scriptural Foundation

  • Good Message Example: Apollos was “an eloquent man, mighty in the Scriptures” (Acts 18:24).

  • Revelation Example: Peter declared, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father in heaven” (Matthew 16:16–17).

3. Impact

  • Good Message: Educates, motivates, encourages people to do better.

  • Message with Revelation: Brings conviction, opens spiritual eyes, and transforms lives.

4. Source

  • Good Message: Human preparation, study, and intellect.

  • Revelation: Illumination of the Holy Spirit, birthed in prayer, waiting on God, and intimacy with Him.

5. Paul’s Example

  • “I did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom... but in demonstration of the Spirit and power” (1 Corinthians 2:1–5).

6. Application for Preachers

  • Study the Word diligently (2 Timothy 2:15).

  • Depend fully on the Holy Spirit for illumination (John 16:13).

  • Preach not just to inform minds but to transform hearts.

👉 Key Thought: A good message speaks to people, but revelation speaks from God through you to people.
