Introduction

Beloved, today I want to speak to you about a very important mindset that determines whether we walk in wisdom or wander in regret. It's the difference between being proactive and being reactive. As followers of Christ, we are called not just to react to the world but to live purposefully and responsibly. प्रिय जनों, आज मैं आपसे एक ऐसे महत्वपूर्ण सोच के विषय में बात करना चाहता हूँ जो यह निर्धारित करती है कि हम बुद्धि में चल रहे हैं या पछतावे में भटक रहे हैं। यह सोच है — प्रोएक्टिव (सावधानीपूर्वक और जिम्मेदार) जीवन बनाम रिएक्टिव (संकट-आधारित) जीवन।

मसीह के अनुयायी होने के नाते, हमें केवल परिस्थितियों पर प्रतिक्रिया नहीं करनी है, बल्कि उद्देश्यपूर्ण और ज़िम्मेदार जीवन जीना है।

1. The Proactive Life: Living with Purpose प्रोएक्टिव जीवन: उद्देश्यपूर्ण जीवन जीना

Proactive people live with a sense of responsibility and foresight. They do not wait for problems to happen before they act—they prepare in advance. प्रोएक्टिव लोग दूरदर्शी होते हैं। वे समस्याओं के आने का इंतज़ार नहीं करते—वे पहले से तैयारी करते हैं।

Look at Noah. God warned him about the flood, and he took action long before a single drop of rain fell. He built the ark while people laughed at him. But because he was proactive, he saved his family and fulfilled God’s purpose (Genesis 6:13-22). नूह को देखिए। परमेश्वर ने उसे बाढ़ के बारे में चेतावनी दी, और उसने एक बूँद बारिश गिरे बिना ही जहाज़ बनाना शुरू कर दिया। लोग उसका मज़ाक उड़ाते रहे, लेकिन उसने परमेश्वर की आज्ञा मानी और अपने परिवार को बचा लिया (उत्पत्ति 6:13-22)।

Jesus Himself said in John 9:4 – “We must do the works of Him who sent me while it is day.” That’s a proactive mindset. Jesus knew time was limited, and He acted intentionally every day. यूहन्ना 9:4 में यीशु ने कहा, “जब तक दिन है, हमें अपने भेजने वाले के काम करना आवश्यक है।” यह proactive सोच है—हर दिन कीमती है।

2. The Reactive Life: Living by Crisis रिएक्टिव जीवन: संकट में जीना

Reactive people wait until trouble comes before they move. They live from crisis to crisis, always responding, but rarely growing. रिएक्टिव लोग तब तक प्रतीक्षा करते हैं जब तक कोई परेशानी सिर पर नहीं आ जाती। वे संकट से संकट की ओर बढ़ते हैं, प्रतिक्रिया तो देते हैं लेकिन आत्मिक रूप से आगे नहीं बढ़ते।

Think about the foolish virgins in Matthew 25. They were not prepared when the bridegroom came. They were reactive—they waited too long. And when they finally tried to act, it was too late. मत्ती 25 में मूर्ख कुँवारियाँ देखिए। जब दूल्हा आया, तो वे तैयार नहीं थीं। वे प्रतिक्रिया देने वाली थीं—परंतु बहुत देर हो चुकी थी।

Proverbs 22:3 tells us: “The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.” नीतिवचन 22:3 हमें चेतावनी देता है: “चतुर विपत्ति को आते देख कर छिप जाता है, परंतु भोले आगे बढ़ जाते हैं और दण्ड भोगते हैं।”

3. Why This Matters in Our Christian Walk मसीही जीवन में इसका क्या महत्व है?

  • A proactive believer prays regularly, studies the Word, and guards their heart daily. प्रोएक्टिव विश्वास रखने वाला व्यक्ति नियमित प्रार्थना करता है, वचन का अध्ययन करता है, और अपने हृदय को रोज़ सुरक्षित रखता है।

  • A reactive believer prays only when in trouble, opens the Bible in crisis, and waits for problems to strike. रिएक्टिव विश्वास रखने वाला व्यक्ति केवल संकट में प्रार्थना करता है, और बाइबल तभी खोलता है जब कोई मुसीबत आती है।

In leadership, family, or ministry—God wants us to lead like Nehemiah, who saw the broken walls of Jerusalem and didn’t wait for someone else to act. He prayed, planned, and led the rebuilding proactively. नीहेम्याह की तरह बनिए—जिसने यरूशलेम की टूटी हुई दीवारें देखीं और दूसरों के कदम उठाने का इंतज़ार नहीं किया। उसने प्रार्थना की, योजना बनाई और कार्य आरंभ किया।

4. How to Cultivate a Proactive Spirit प्रोएक्टिव आत्मा कैसे विकसित करें?

  • Abide in the Word – Let God’s wisdom shape your decisions before problems arise. वचन में बने रहें – परमेश्वर की बुद्धि आपको पहले से दिशा देगी।

  • Discern the times – Like the sons of Issachar (1 Chronicles 12:32), understand what God is doing and prepare accordingly. समय को समझें – इस्साकार के पुत्रों की तरह (1 इतिहास 12:32), समय की समझ रखें।

  • Take initiative – Don’t wait for others to fix what you can influence. पहला कदम उठाइए – दूसरों के इंतजार में समय न गँवाएँ; जहाँ आप बदलाव ला सकते हैं, वहाँ लाएँ।

  • Stay prayerful and watchful – Jesus told His disciples, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.” (Matthew 26:41) प्रार्थनामय और जागरूक रहें – यीशु ने कहा, “जागते और प्रार्थना करते रहो ताकि तुम परीक्षा में न पड़ो।” (मत्ती 26:41)

Conclusion

God has not called us to a life of reaction but to a life of action, led by the Spirit. Let’s choose today to be like Noah, Nehemiah, and the wise virgins—living with purpose, planning with wisdom, and acting in obedience. परमेश्वर ने हमें प्रतिक्रियात्मक जीवन नहीं बल्कि सक्रिय, आत्मा के नेतृत्व में चलने वाला जीवन दिया है। नूह, नीहेम्याह और बुद्धिमान कुँवारियों की तरह बनें—उद्देश्यपूर्ण जीवन जीएँ, बुद्धि से योजना बनाएँ, और आज्ञाकारिता में कार्य करें।

Let us stop saying, “I’ll deal with it when it happens,” and start saying, “With God’s help, I will prepare today. अब यह न कहें, “जब कुछ होगा तब देखेंगे,” बल्कि यह कहें, “परमेश्वर की सहायता से, मैं आज तैयार रहूँगा।”


Joseph’s life in the Bible (Genesis 37–50) is a powerful example of proactive living — someone who didn't just react to circumstances but shaped his life through faith, character, and initiative. Here's a breakdown of how Joseph's life demonstrates a proactive mindset: यूसुफ: एक पूर्व-सक्रिय जीवन का उदाहरण (उत्पत्ति 37–50) यूसुफ का जीवन इस बात का अद्भुत उदाहरण है कि एक व्यक्ति कैसे अपने हालातों का शिकार बनने के बजाय, विश्वास, चरित्र और पहल से अपना जीवन रच सकता है।

🔹 1. He didn’t let circumstances define him परिस्थितियों को अपनी पहचान न बनने देना

Genesis 37 – Joseph was betrayed by his own brothers, sold into slavery at 17. A reactive person would become bitter or hopeless. But Joseph chose to serve faithfully even in slavery. उत्पत्ति 37 – जब भाईयों ने उसे बेच दिया, यूसुफ केवल 17 वर्ष का था।

परंतु उसने हार नहीं मानी। उसने अपने आप को दया या क्रोध में नहीं डुबोया।

✅ Proactive trait: He accepted where he was but worked with excellence in it. पूर्व-सक्रिय दृष्टिकोण: उसने अपनी परिस्थिति को स्वीकार किया और उसमें भी पूर्ण निष्ठा से कार्य किया।

🔹 2. He worked with excellence even in difficult situations कठिन हालातों में भी उत्कृष्टता से काम करना

Genesis 39 – As a slave in Potiphar's house, Joseph didn’t slack or complain. Instead, he earned trust and was given leadership over the household. उत्पत्ति 39 – पोटीफर के घर में गुलामी में भी यूसुफ ने ऐसा कार्य किया कि वह पूरे घर का प्रभारी बना।

✅ Proactive trait: He made the best out of a bad situation by choosing integrity and diligence.  पूर्व-सक्रिय दृष्टिकोण: उसने शिकायत नहीं की, बल्कि जहां था, वहां पूरी लगन से सेवा की।

🔹 3. He maintained his moral integrity under pressure नैतिकता बनाए रखना दबाव में भी

When Potiphar’s wife tempted him, he refused. Though this led to prison, Joseph chose character over comfort. जब पोटीफर की पत्नी ने उसे फंसाने की कोशिश की, यूसुफ ने पाप से इंकार किया, भले ही उसे जेल जाना पड़ा।

✅ Proactive trait: He controlled his response, not blaming circumstances for moral failure. पूर्व-सक्रिय दृष्टिकोण: उसने परिस्थितियों को बहाना नहीं बनाया, बल्कि चरित्र को प्राथमिकता दी।

🔹 4. He used his gifts even when forgotten उपेक्षा में भी अपनी योग्यताओं का उपयोग करना

Genesis 40 – In prison, Joseph interpreted dreams for fellow inmates, showing that he didn’t let discouragement stop his God-given abilities. उत्पत्ति 40 – जेल में रहते हुए भी उसने अपने स्वप्न व्याख्या के वरदान से दूसरों की सेवा की।

✅ Proactive trait: He kept serving others with his gift, even without recognition.  पूर्व-सक्रिय दृष्टिकोण: उसने उपेक्षित होकर भी अपने वरदानों को दबाया नहीं।

🔹 5. He prepared for opportunities अवसरों के लिए खुद को तैयार रखना

When Pharaoh called him (Genesis 41), Joseph was ready — mentally, spiritually, and with the wisdom to interpret dreams and give a plan to save Egypt. उत्पत्ति 41 – जब फ़राओह ने बुलाया, यूसुफ तैयार था: आत्मिक रूप से भी और व्यावहारिक रूप से भी।

✅ Proactive trait: He was faithful in small things, so he was ready for great things. पूर्व-सक्रिय दृष्टिकोण: वह छोटी बातों में विश्वासयोग्य रहा, इसलिए बड़ी जिम्मेदारी के लिए योग्य ठहरा।

🔹 6. He took initiative to solve problems समस्याओं का समाधान देना, सिर्फ शिकायत नहीं करना

Joseph didn’t just interpret Pharaoh’s dreams; he proposed a strategic 14-year national plan (7 years of abundance, 7 years of famine). Pharaoh made him Prime Minister. फ़राओह के स्वप्न की व्याख्या के साथ-साथ यूसुफ ने एक समाधान भी दिया – 14 वर्षों की योजना।

✅ Proactive trait: He offered solutions, not just observations. पूर्व-सक्रिय दृष्टिकोण: उसने पहल की और दृष्टिकोण के साथ योजना प्रस्तुत की।

🔹 7. He chose forgiveness over revenge बदले की भावना नहीं, क्षमा का मार्ग चुनना

When his brothers came to Egypt (Genesis 42–50), Joseph had the power to punish them — but instead he forgave and helped them. जब भाई मिस्र आए, यूसुफ के पास बदला लेने की शक्ति थी, लेकिन उसने क्षमा और मेल को चुना।

✅ Proactive trait: He let go of the past, chose reconciliation, and focused on God’s bigger plan.  पूर्व-सक्रिय दृष्टिकोण: उसने अतीत को पीछे छोड़ा और परमेश्वर की योजना पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया।

🔹 8. He saw God's hand in everything 

Joseph’s classic statement in Genesis 50:20: 

हर परिस्थिति में परमेश्वर का उद्देश्य देखना

उत्पत्ति 50:20 –

“You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive.” “तुमने मेरे साथ बुरा करने की सोच रखी, परंतु परमेश्वर ने उस से भलाई की सोची...”

✅ Proactive trait: A God-centered view of life, not a victim-centered one.
