That’s a key point from 1 Corinthians 13:1-3. Paul emphasizes that no matter how gifted we are—speaking like angels, prophesying, having great knowledge, or even giving everything to the poor—without love, it amounts to nothing (“becar,” worthless).

Here’s a clear explanation tying it to readiness for the Rapture:

Love Makes All Things Valuable

Paul writes:

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal… If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship but do not have love, I gain nothing.” – 1 Corinthians 13:1,3

This teaches us that spiritual gifts, works, and even acts of devotion are meaningless without love. Why? Because God’s coming is not about what we can do, but about who we are in Him.

  • Speaking like angels: Even if we have the most profound spiritual insight, without love, it has no eternal value.

  • Faith and service: Even giving our lives for God without love leaves us spiritually empty.

  • Rapture readiness: Love is the quality that transforms our actions into something eternal. It’s what makes our faith active, our hope alive, and our hearts prepared to meet Christ.

In other words, love is the ultimate proof of life in Christ, the evidence that we are truly ready for His return. Without love, even spiritual brilliance or sacrificial acts are “bekar”—empty in God’s eyes.
