Introduction

Many people think saying “Lord” or doing religious works is enough. बहुत से लोग सोचते हैं कि केवल “प्रभु” कह देना या धार्मिक काम करना पर्याप्त है।

Jesus warns: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom…” (Matthew 7:21). यीशु चेतावनी देते हैं: “हर कोई जो मुझ से कहता है, ‘हे प्रभु, हे प्रभु,’ स्वर्ग के राज्य में प्रवेश न करेगा…” (मत्ती 7:21)।

Paul promises: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13). पौलुस वादा करता है: “जो कोई प्रभु का नाम लेगा, वह उद्धार पाएगा।” (रोमियों 10:13)।

Is this a contradiction? No — it is a call to examine whether we truly know Jesus. क्या यह विरोधाभास है? नहीं — यह हमें जाँचने की बुलाहट है कि क्या हम सचमुच यीशु को जानते हैं।

1. The False Security of Empty Words (Matthew 7:21)

Jesus says: Not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” will enter. यीशु कहते हैं: हर कोई जो “हे प्रभु, हे प्रभु” कहता है, प्रवेश नहीं करेगा।

Lip service without obedience is useless. केवल होंठों की बातें बिना आज्ञाकारिता के व्यर्थ हैं।

Faith is not just words — it must be heart + action. विश्वास केवल शब्द नहीं — बल्कि हृदय + कर्म होना चाहिए।

Example: Many can sing hymns or pray, but if their life denies Christ, the words are empty. उदाहरण: बहुत लोग भजन गा सकते हैं या प्रार्थना कर सकते हैं, पर यदि उनका जीवन मसीह का इंकार करता है तो उनके शब्द खोखले हैं।

2. The Danger of Religious Works Without Relationship (Matthew 7:22–23)

People will point to their works: prophecy, miracles, casting out demons. लोग अपने कामों की ओर इशारा करेंगे: भविष्यद्वाणी, चमत्कार, दुष्टात्माओं को निकालना।

Jesus’ shocking reply: “I never knew you.” यीशु का चौंकाने वाला उत्तर: “मैं ने तुम को कभी नहीं जाना।”

Works cannot replace relationship. Ministry is not a substitute for intimacy with Christ. काम रिश्ते की जगह नहीं ले सकते। सेवा, मसीह के साथ घनिष्ठता (intimacy) का विकल्प नहीं है।

Jesus calls them “workers of lawlessness” → Their lives lacked obedience to God’s will. यीशु उन्हें “अधर्म करने वाले” कहते हैं → उनके जीवन में परमेश्वर की आज्ञाकारिता की कमी थी।

3. The True Call to Salvation (Romans 10:9–13)

Paul explains what it really means to “call on the Lord”: पौलुस समझाता है कि “प्रभु को पुकारना” वास्तव में क्या है:

Confess with your mouth → Jesus is Lord. मुख से अंगीकार करना → यीशु प्रभु है।

Believe in your heart → God raised Him from the dead. हृदय से विश्वास करना → परमेश्वर ने उसे मृतकों में से जिलाया।

That faith brings righteousness and salvation. ऐसा विश्वास धार्मिकता और उद्धार लाता है।

To “call” is not shouting His name; it is surrendering your life in faith. “प्रभु को पुकारना” केवल उसका नाम चिल्लाना नहीं; यह विश्वास में अपना जीवन अर्पित करना है।

4. Knowing Christ vs. Using His Name

Jesus: “I never knew you.” यीशु: “मैं ने तुम को कभी नहीं जाना।”

Paul: “Whoever calls will be saved.” पौलुस: “जो कोई प्रभु का नाम लेगा, वह उद्धार पाएगा।”

The key is truly knowing Him, not just using His name. कुंजी यह है कि हम सचमुच उसे जानें, न कि केवल उसका नाम उपयोग करें।

Illustration: Someone might know your name, even use it to impress others, but they don’t actually know you — and you don’t know them. उदाहरण: कोई आपका नाम जान सकता है, यहाँ तक कि दूसरों को प्रभावित करने के लिए आपका नाम ले सकता है, पर वह वास्तव में आपको नहीं जानता — और आप भी उसे नहीं जानते।

In the same way, Jesus rejects those who used His name but never belonged to Him. उसी प्रकार, यीशु उन लोगों को अस्वीकार करता है जिन्होंने उसका नाम उपयोग किया, पर कभी उसके अपने नहीं बने।

5. Application: How Do We Truly Know Him?

Faith: Believe in Christ’s death and resurrection (Romans 10:9). विश्वास: मसीह की मृत्यु और पुनरुत्थान पर विश्वास करना (रोमियों 10:9)।

Obedience: Do the will of the Father (Matthew 7:21). आज्ञाकारिता: पिता की इच्छा को पूरा करना (मत्ती 7:21)।

Relationship: Walk with Him daily in prayer, Word, and holiness. संबंध: प्रतिदिन प्रार्थना, वचन और पवित्रता में उसके साथ चलना।

Fruit: Live a life that shows transformation, not just words. फल: ऐसा जीवन जीना जो परिवर्तन को दिखाए, न कि केवल शब्द।

Conclusion

Calling “Lord, Lord” is not enough. केवल “हे प्रभु, हे प्रभु” कहना पर्याप्त नहीं।

Doing miracles is not enough. केवल चमत्कार करना पर्याप्त नहीं।

Only a living faith that surrenders to Christ and obeys Him will stand before Him with joy. केवल वही जीवित विश्वास, जो मसीह को समर्पण और आज्ञाकारिता देता है, हमें आनंद के साथ उसके सामने खड़ा करेगा।

Today, let us not just call Him Lord with lips, but truly know Him with our hearts and lives. आज, हम केवल होंठों से प्रभु कहने वाले न बनें, बल्कि अपने हृदय और जीवन से सचमुच उसे जानें।
