Influence in Crisis

🌍 Influence in Crisis

📖 Scripture: Genesis 41:53–57

“When the seven years of abundance in Egypt came to an end… the famine began… Then all the world came to Joseph in Egypt to buy grain.”
Genesis 41:54, 57 (summary)

✨ Joseph's leadership shined not in comfort but in crisis. He became a channel of provision, wisdom, and hope—not just for Egypt, but for surrounding nations. In crisis, true influence is revealed.

📌 Key Observations:

1. Joseph Was Ready Before the Crisis Came

  • Crisis did not surprise Joseph—he had prepared.

  • He didn’t panic, complain, or shift blame. He executed the plan God had given him.

🎯 Your preparation in peacetime will define your response in pressure.

2. The World Came to Him

  • People from all nations came to Joseph (v. 57).

  • His obedience became a global blessing.

  • He went from being an outsider to being a source of life and stability.

🌱 God can use you to influence not just your town—but your nation and beyond.

3. He Controlled Egypt's Economy with Integrity

  • Joseph distributed grain systematically.

  • He didn't exploit people or seek profit. He stewarded resources with justice.

⚖️ In times of need, God looks for people who will lead with integrity.

4. God Positioned Him for This Hour

  • He wasn't in Pharaoh’s palace by accident.

  • His past pain, false accusations, and delays all prepared him to stand strong in crisis.

  • Esther 4:14 principle“For such a time as this…”

🔑 God places you where you are for the crisis you are meant to solve.

🧠 Application:

Crisis Type Your Influence Can Be...
Family problems Be a voice of peace and unity
Financial struggle Offer wisdom and generosity
Church/ministry need Rise as a servant-leader
Community disaster Mobilize help and offer hope

💬 Quotes You Can Use:

  • “Crisis doesn't make a leader—it reveals one.”

  • “The storm will either sink you or showcase you—depending on your anchor.”

🙏 Closing Prayer for This Point:

“Lord, help me not to fear crisis but to see it as an opportunity to serve and influence others. Let me be prepared, faithful, and full of wisdom when people are in need. May I reflect Your character in every storm. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
