VI. 1- Believer are the Light

Image
Believer are the Light (Matt.5:14) "You are the light of the world"  (v.14) . Light does not shine to be seen, but to enable others to see and what they are to see is not the Christian, but Christ. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works (not you) and glorify your Father (not you) in heaven"  (v.16) . He said," A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden"   (v.14) , suggesting a city whose streetlamps a home lights shine through the darkest night.       This is a beautiful metaphor of a congregation filled with that spiritual light that comes from Him who is light, in whom "is no darkness at all"  (1John1:5-7) . He added, nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp-stand and it gives light to all who are in the house"  (v.15) . In this part of metaphor, believers are taught to let their light shine, in their homes and elsewhere, to light the way to Jesus for the...

I. F- What is the Final Destiny of Man? (Proverbs.14:11, 12)

F. What is the Final Destiny of Man? (Proverbs.14:11, 12) Man’s final destiny is death if he chooses the way that seems right to him. As Isaiah said, “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way” (Is.53:6). Man’s way is the broad way, the way of least resistance, a road that narrows down to destruction-eternal separation from God (Matt.7:13)       Man’s final destiny is life if he chooses God’s way, which is through His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “Narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life” (Matt.7:14). Then He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John.14:6). He is God’s only way to eternal life (Acts.4:12). 1). Christ will come soon to establish righteousness on earth, to judge the wicked, and to inaugurate His millennial (thousand-year) kingdom (Matt.25:31-46; Rev.20:1-10). 2). The lost of all the ages will be cas...

VI. Manifesting Kingdom Principles

Manifesting Kingdom Principles We now come to the second section of the King’s manifesto. In the Beatitudes we have seen what the Christian is; now we are told how to manifest kingdom principles. As the King’s subjects, we are not to withdraw from the world; we are in the world, but not of it. Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13) but if you lose your saltiness (tang), you are good for nothing. Again He said, “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14) . But if you put your light under a bushel, you will not expel darkness in others around you. Your light does not shine to be seen, but that others may see Christ in you, and hunger and thirst after His righteousness.             When your are abused, turn the other cheek; go the second mile; pray for and love your enemies. Why? Because “you are a chosen generation, royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the prai...

I. E- What are the Various States of Man with God? (Ecclesiastes.7:29)

E. What are the Various States of Man with God? (Ecclesiastes.7:29) “Truly, this only I have found; that God made man upright, but they [men and women] have sought out many schemes [for evil intend]” (v.29). this verses describes the condition of man, before and after Adam fell through disobedience to God. Man’s condition has clearly changed since Creation, particularly in his relationship with God: 1). Adam before the Fall. Theologians have agreed that Adam was not neutral, but was in an original (though untested and unconfirmed) state of righteousness. In his state of innocence he was disposed to do good, with no desire to do evil. He was created perfect, but not a robot. 2). Man after the Fall. When Adam fell, and death entered into the world (Rom.5:512), Adam acquired a sinful nature which was inherited by all generations (Rom.3:9-19). “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom.3:23). 3). Redeemed man. Saved man, at the new birth, is now judged ...
